Roast the Pear with star anise and apple juice and a little bit of sugar. Serve it on a bed of mascarpone cheese or if you like just add a dollop of Mascarpone Cheese over as well. A crunchy crumb on top is very addictive; you will want more. I used walnuts, and oats for this crumb, but can go with any type of dryfruits. This dessert has just a hint of sweet; the roasted pear are tender and juicy with a creamy and crunchy texture. The combination is fantastic, the flavors are mild and juicy and the looks are ultra sophisticated. This a joy recipe to make and eat and I am very happy to share.
Now few points to remember
1. While cutting the pear, rub some lemon juice on them, they will not change in color.
2. Don’t over cook the pears, take them out of the oven when they are just done. Remember they will continue to cook, in their warmth.
3. While basting the pears in the hot oven, use a spoon with a long handle.
3. Keep an eye on the crumb, don’t just leave it in the hot oven, it can burn.
