I have been a fan of chia seeds almost all my life. Unaware of all those health benefits it comes with, I have always enjoyed that wonderful gel like texture. Add these tiny cute wobbly dots to your coconut milk, or to some drink, or even to your ice-cream. My kids call them frog eggs and so do I. lol

Platter share has started Belly Nirvana – Where they are promoting healthy organic food products and I was very excited to be a part of this endeavor. The products I received were

  1. Organic coconut sugar – It is unrefined, vegan, organic and made of pure coconut flower blossom nectar. I made healthy brownies with this wonderful product.
  2. Raw Chia seeds – Vegan and rich in omega-3, dietary fiber, protein, Anti- oxidants.

Today I would like to share my experience of using Organic Chia Seeds in my food.

These are small power packed seeds – great sources of protein and minerals including iron, calcium (single serving provides you as much as a glass of milk), More omega 3s then walnuts, antioxidants, magnesium and zinc, all of which are essential to a healthy body as they regulate blood oxygenation, metabolism, skin and bone health as well as keeping your skin clear and glowing.

But the part I more interested in telling you guys is that chia seeds give you an amazing amount of fibre. The more fibre you eat the higher the rate of excretion of waste and toxins from the body. The fibre will also keep you full so you don’t feel hungry very soon.

Chia’s ability to keep you full is also enhanced by the fact that the seeds absorb up to ten times their weight in liquid once eaten, which is awesome, so if you are looking to chuck off some extra kilos add chia seeds to your everyday diet.

 

Chia seeds can be used in various recipes and added to favourite foods. Depending on the texture you want to accomplish, there are several ways to use them.

I am sharing today a savoury healthy breakfast recipe – Waffle patties.

Have you ever looked into the fridge for something yummy and that should be filling and healthy, and will make you happy with least amount of calories? Happens with me very often; bum size is very important and I want to buy same size of jeans whole my life or may be one or two size less would be ideal.

A rainy hungry morning – A raid in my fridge – all I found was left over potato baji, and I tried this yumm healthy Waffle patties with fresh coriander and chia seeds. The recipe turned out simply awesome and did not require any oil to deep fry. Chia seeds gave a wonderful crunch to the patties and I am gonna experiment the same with peas and cauliflower as well. You can try with the flavour of your choice.
