Coffee Truffles

These Coffee Truffles are from my list of festive season gift ideas. YES! They do make a beautiful and delicious homemade gift, you just need to pack them in an elegant looking box. And there you have it, something made specially, for special someone.

Coffee Truffles

Coffee lovers! this is a must try for you too. Easy to prepare and not a stiff, stubborn complicated, well-measured recipe. Infect, this recipe is so forgiving and easy to prepare that even kids/newbies in the kitchen, can make these truffles easily at home.

Hope you have gone through my last post on how to make soft centre chocolates, with orange flavoured ganache in the middle.

Soft Centred Festive Chocolates

My Raksha Bandana special

Coffee Truffles

The reason, I have called it a super duper easy recipe is because no special equipment or ingredient is required for this recipe. We melt the chopped chocolate with hot cream and once its cold, we add Ossoro Colombian coffee essence in it. When the chocolate gets thicker on cooling, we roll it into balls. And that is it….

Coffee Truffles

And once again, Ossoro flavours have come in and added a beautiful touch to my recipe. Just a little bit of Colombian coffee essence goes in the prepared chocolate mix and it starts to speak of rich and deep coffee flavours. This bottle here is packed with absolutely amazing aromas. Colombian coffee has a very popular/most recognised flavour profile, which is considered as one of the best in the world. It brings together a mellow acidity and a strong caramel sweetness, with a nutty undertone, and this bottle has it all, just right. Its a must try flavour can be added to many many desserts.

Coffee Truffles

There are not any rigid guidelines for making these at home.

I have used the same truffle mix and given it three different looks, as you see in the pictures here.

1. Is a coating of cocoa powder 2. Is a light dip in melted chocolate 3. Is double dip in melted chocolate, and I used my fingers to swirl the chocolate on the top

The type of chocolate you use to coat your coffee truffles is a matter of personal choice milk, dark or white chocolate. Pick any, it’s not gonna change the goodness of coffee flavour and the gooey texture of the truffles.

Coffee Truffles

Ingredients

300gm of chopped compound chocolate

2/3 cup of heavy cream (sweetened)

20 gm of soft butter

A spoonful of Colombian Coffee flavour from Ossoro

Cocoa powder or melted chocolate to coat the truffles

Method

In a bowl add the chopped chocolate and keep aside.

In a small heavy bottomed saucepan heat heavy cream on a medium flame, until it starts to bubble up around the outside edges. Remove from heat and pour over the chopped chocolate. Allow to sit for 4-5 minutes, then whisk until chocolate is melted and the mixture is smooth. Gently whisk in softened butter.

Once cool add in Ossoro Colombian Coffee essence and mix well. Pour ganache into a shallow baking dish, and keep in the fridge for at least 2 hours.

When truffle mix firms up, use a melon baller to create 1-inch balls and place on a parchment-lined baking sheet.Magideal 50pcs Newspaper Style Waterproof Dry Wax Paper Food Candy Wrapping Tissueir?t=2bliofbak 21&l=am2&o=31&a=B06WW9J1RZ

Roll each mound into a tiny ball. Set each one on a parchment lined cookie sheet. If they start to soften, place them back in the fridge for a few minutes. It’s easier to work with when cold.

Add cocoa powder to a small bowl. Remove truffles from the fridge and drop them into the cocoa powder, roll them around to coat all sides.

Or

Melt some chocolate over a double boiler and dip the truffle balls in. Use a fork to lift them up and place on a parchment sheet to set. Once done place them in an elegant box and the gift is ready! TENDYCOCO 10PCS Flamingo Paper Treat Candy Boxes Wedding Party Favor Boxes with Ribbon Stylish Candy Box Chocolate Gift Boxes for Event Birthday Wedding Party Suppliesir?t=2bliofbak 21&l=am2&o=31&a=B07FX5661Y
