The recipe is very simple, there is yeast, sugar, butter, and flour. The inside of each donut is filled with Vanilla Custard cream. After filling each donut bite, I dipped them in colored glaze. I think Dulce de Leche will make a great filling. Or you can simply use any jam, chocolate ganache, there are endless assortments for the filling. Think of something amazing you would want to try.

Does any body know what is the right way to spell Donut or Doughnut? Let me know, if you have any idea. As usual few points to read before the making :

1.  If the weather is cold, make the dough a night before,so the dough gets enough time to rise. There will not be any need to keep the dough in the fridge. Just make sure its covered and has enough room to rise in the bowl.

2.  If you don’t have a cookie cutter just use any bottle cap to cut the size you want.

3.  Using a good quality oil is the key to a non oily doughnut. Use a flavorless oil like canola oil or vegetable oil.

4.  Heat the oil over medium high, the frying temperature must be around 190* C. It is very important to maintain the temperature while frying. If the oil is too hot the doughnuts will get too brown and crisp outside, while the inside will not be done. Conversely, if the oil is not hot enough, the doughnut will absorb too much oil and the texture will be soggy and greasy. To check just throw a small piece of the dough in the frier, if it sizzles and rises to the surface you are good to go.

5. If you plan to coat your donuts with sugar- As the donuts are out from the frier, let them drain on a tissue for 30 seconds and immediatly toss the donuts into the sugar. If they cool, the sugar will not stick.

If you want to apply glaze – Let the donut cool for 3 to 4 minutes, then transfer on the wire rack and pour over the prepared glaze evenly. Remember the thinner glaze will run more then the thicker glaze. Thicker glaze is more precise and holds the place. Apply the garnish to thr top of the glaze before it sets.
