Muesli is one of the healthiest and divinely delicious way to start the day .
The crunchy mixture of oats , corn flakes , wheat flakes , nuts and seeds ; is packed with nutrition .
The amount of sugar can be controlled while making it home ; and over indulgence is allowed .
We can enjoy it with curd or ice cream also ; These flavors do go very well together.
As it is a great source of protein and omega 3 fatty acids ; every day nourishment will not , be a worry
especially for vegetarians .
Ingredients are easy to find , and recipe is super easy to make .
Ingredients –
1. 3 cups of rolled oats
2. 2 cups of corn flakes
3. 2 cups of wheat flakes
4. 1/2 cup of almonds
5. 1/2 cup of raisins
6. 1 cup of mixed dry fruits ( cherries , apricot , dates , figs )
7.1/2 cup of mixed seeds ( sunflower seeds , sesame seeds , flax seeds , pumpkin seeds )
8. 1/2 cup of brown sugar
9. 1/2 cup of honey or maple syrup
10. 1/4 cup of water
11. 1 teaspoons of butter
12. A pinch of salt
Method –
In a large bowl combine oats . corn flakes , wheat flakes , almonds , all the seeds ,and salt .
Mix it well , In a small sauce pan add sugar , honey , butter and water ; bring to boil .
make sure sugar is fully mixed ; and don’t stir constantly .
Pour the mixture into the dry ingredients ; and make sure they are well coated .
Spread on to a baking sheet ; and bake for 20 minutes at 180* c ; stirring occasionally so that
mixture browns evenly . When done , add in the raisins and dry fruits and place it on a cooling rack .
It may be a little wet when hot , but it will become crisp after cooling .
Make sure you break up large clumps , if any . And once it is completely cold store it in a air tight container .
