Twix has chocolate and caramel combo – That’s a classic ; too good when together. Like Tanu weds Manu , I have a chocolate weds caramel recipe today. Hey! by the way have you seen that movie?
But why I am talking movies here? its a recipe blog, lets get back to flavors and food. But you will definitely enjoy eating this gooey caramely chocolate while watching a movie. Look at that caramel, I am in love with this picture here.

Hey! I am typing with only one finger because my hands are little sticky eating my Homemade Twix with a nice hot cup of coffee. (I love my laptop; no food on it) My secret – I try eating sweets once a day; but today is a cheat day. Eaten a lot, tomorrow morning; running- Pinky promise to myself.

Homemade Twix bar might seem a crazy idea, but its great fun to make your own chocolate bars at home. I enjoyed it and I know for sure that you will enjoy it too. These Homemade Twix bars are gooey goodness of caramel, chocolate and baked buttery shortbread.
You must have bought Twix many times, so have I; Eaten and enjoyed. Making Homemade Twix bars and bringing that flavor and texture was my agenda yesterday, in the kitchen. YES! SUCCESS

As we all know that Twix has three delicious layers 1. biscuit base , 2. caramel layer and, 3. chocolate coating
For the biscuit base I have used a buttery shortbread recipe – and added a little almond flour which is not only enhancing the flavor but adding so much to the texture also. An experiment that went well and was loved by my husband. Oh! he was so happy on the very first bite.
For the Caramel layer – The recipe I have posted before Caramel candy , I have used the same recipe. Which I think is the best way to make caramel at home, a recipe I can bet on. So second layer was easy pezzy to bring together. Anything made with caramel is just awesome.
Chocolate layer is just melting the chocolate in then microwave or on double boiler, then pouring over. Its ready. Now, I can say its easy to make your own Homemade Twix bars.
My Twix bar is over and I washed my hands. All clean to touch my laptop.
Few points to read and remember when making Homemade Twix bars :
1 . When you line your baking pan, make sure that the parchment paper is long enough to line the bottom of the pan with extra hanging over the sides. This will help you lift up the prepared chocolate square easily.
2 . Press down the short bread mixture evenly, before you bake. Use your hand, off set spatula or back of a spoon.
3. Make sure each preceeding layer has cooled before you pour over the next layer. Patience is required.
4. When you are making a caramel, follow all the precautions I have mentioned. Its a very important and delicious step, don’t toy with the making of your caramel.
5. Just follow the steps and have patience, This recipe is easy to put together.
